Rock Hall wants to feature your concert footage; show it to them Saturday

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Do you vaguely remember shooting some concert footage decades ago, maybe of Jimi Hendrix at Cleveland's Public Hall in 1968?

If so, dig it out of the attic because the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame wants to make a copy for their collection.

Andy Leach, the Rock Hall's Senior Director of Library & Archives, said you can bring that footage on Saturday, noon-5 p.m., to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum Library & Archives, at Cuyahoga Community College, 2809 Woodland Ave., Cleveland.

Reservations are recommended. Call (216) 515-1993 or email homemovies@rockhall.org, to schedule an appointment or discuss your film and video with archivists.

You can donate the original footage or put it back in the attic. Your contribution could be added to the Rock Hall's permanent collection as a part of NEO Sound, a local popular music preservation initiative

Leach said self-recorded films and videos of Northeast Ohio acts, national acts featured at local venues, or major historical music events filmed by northeast Ohio community members are of interest.

Participants will be invited to attend Home Movie Day at the Rock Hall's Foster Theatre October 20, 2018 to see their footage in a compilation film. Contributors will also receive a limited edition poster for the event.
