Telmo Pieper's childhood drawings reinterpreted for the digital age – in pictures
Before he grew up to be a muralist in the street art duo Telmo Miel, Dutch artist Telmo Pieper loved to draw animals. "I was always getting bad grades at school because I only wanted to draw, even when the other kids were playing outside," he says. But despite a youthful enthusiasm for biology, as a four-year-old he struggled to get the animals' proportions right. Now 25, Pieper found some old sketches and decided to bring the oddly shaped creatures to life, recreating them digitally with Photoshop and Paint. "I thought it would be funny to see what they looked like. I did a lot of research on the animals – the textures, the colours – to make them as realistic as possible"
