PlayStation 4 And Xbox One Are Having Big Sales For E3

This article is more than 5 years old.

If you still don't have a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One-- a totally valid life choice, mind you-- E3 is one of those times your palms start to sweat. We're getting a barrage of new announcements from Sony, Microsoft and essentially ever third-party developer and publisher, and sometimes the hype becomes too much to bear. Sony and Microsoft have anticipated this and are here to push you over the edge towards making the actual purchase. Both the PS4 and the Xbox One, as well as the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, are on right now.

We'll start with Xbox One, which just went live. Note that this is the first official deal on the Xbox One X--we've seen some bundles and sitewide codes in the past, but not straightforward price cut. The Xbox One X plays all the same games as Xbox One S with enhanced graphical capabilities, and is geared towards 4K TV owners. Here are the Xbox deals:

Xbox One X 1 TB console -- $449

Xbox One S 500 GB console: $199

Xbox One S 1 TB Rocket League, Sea of Thieves Or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Bundles: $249

And then we've got the PS4, which is running similar discounts on its own hardware. The PS4 Pro, like the Xbox One X, is an upgraded version of the PS4. It's less powerful than the X, but comes with a smaller base price tag to match. Here are the PS4 deals:

PS4 Pro: $349

PlayStation VR: starting at $199

Dualshock 4 controller: $40

It's hard not to recommend either or any of these consoles if you like gaming: the price is right and the game libraries are stacked. It's also hard to not recommend the PS4 over the Xbox One at this point, because it's game library is significantly more stacked.
