This Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55 is powered by a 4.2L 2F inline-six mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and was acquired by the seller in 2017. The wagon is finished in two-tone green over a black leather interior, and features include a steel roof rack, as well as a power steering conversion and four-wheel disc brakes added by the seller. Additional work under current ownership is said to have consisted of an engine rebuild, wiring replacements, a refinishing of the fuel tank, and more as described below. This FJ55 is now offered at no reserve with service records and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Built between 1967-1980, the FJ55 was the first Land Cruiser designed as a four-door wagon. This example was repainted in the current two-tone color scheme by a previous owner, and the seller notes some bubbling in the paint in various areas including the roof near the drip rails, as well as some chipping on the left rear pillar and passenger front door. The power rear window’s mechanical arm, switch, and wiring has been rebuilt, though the motor is said to need replacement.

15″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO tires. The wiring for the lighting was replaced within the last year. A black steel roof rack is also included in the sale.

The black interior has been refurbished with new leather upholstery on the bench seats, and the floors have been coated with white bedliner. The window mechanisms and door locks have been rebuilt, though the passenger side window crank shaft slips. The seller notes the heater is not connected.

A three-spoke steering wheel features refurbished horn buttons and fronts factory Tazaki Meter instrumentation. The five-digit odometer indicates just under 73k miles, with the seller adding around 500 over two years of ownership. The parking brake cable has been recently replaced. Aftermarket speakers have been installed in the front door panels and rear side panels, though the AM/FM radio is said to be disconnected.

A 4.2L 2F inline-six from a later model year FJ was installed by a previous owner and was reportedly rebuilt under current ownership. The carburetor was also rebuilt and is fitted with an aftermarket air cleaner. Per the seller, additional work performed within the last year has consisted of a radiator rebuild, windshield wiper motor rebuild, a power steering conversion, disc brake conversion, clutch replacement, refinishing of the fuel tank, and the installation of new fuel lines. A video of the engine running has been provided by the seller here.
