Sunderland Sign 'One Of Sweden's Greatest Talents'

Sunderland have completed the signing of young Swedish striker Joel Asoro

Sunderland have signed 16-year-old Swedish striker Joel Asoro from Brommapojkarna on a four-year deal.

Asoro had been interesting Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus, Everton and Red Bull Salzburg but after visiting several of the interested clubs, and training with both Manchester United and Chelsea, has decided that his future lies at the Stadium of Light.

His agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, explained why his client had chosen Sunderland, telling Swedish newspaper aftonbladet;

We have carefully gone through all the options and Sunderland have certainly shown that they have a plan to make him a Premier League player in the future. This really feels like the best option. He will move to Sunderland with his mother.

The striker, described by Cetinkaya as fast, skilful and a 'fox in the box', has already undergone a medical with the club and will be expected to join up with his new academy team-mates at the start of pre-season training in July.
