For ava. records, the sky's the limit, as you'll hear in the latest Carhartt WIP Radio show, bringing together a mix of house, techno, soul, hip hop, funk, jazz and disco. Established by the Cologne-based DJ and producer Damiano von Erckert in 2011, the label's roster consists of artists such as Christopher Rau, Ugly Drums, Andy Vaz, and Tito Wun aka Twit One (one half of Testiculo Y Uno that brought you the Carhartt WIP Radio Show from August 2013). The multicoloured ava. catalogue also includes musicians as varied as  L.A-based, neo-soul vocalist, Georgia Anne Muldrow. For Carhartt WIP Radio, Damiano von Erckert mixes a selection of old and new ava. records, special remixes, tracks from his latest EP “Giant Pandas And Other Nice Things In Life”, along with other rarities that will make hip hop heads just as happy as club music devotees.

Detroit legend Javonntte steps up to supply the second release on the freshly minted Hardmatter with five timeless cuts aptly titled the 'Groove Society' EP, including a title track that's a deep and soulful ballad.

Following releases on Kai Alce's NDATL and Patrice Scott's Sistrum Recordings, Javonntte continues to impress with warm textures and captivating rhythms aimed at the dancefloor. 'Groove Society.....Detroit' showcases his knack for diving deep into late night territory, an aesthetic that greatly suites his distinct sound profile. 

Look for the 'Groove Society' EP to be released October 20.

Extended Family is proud to premiere an external release from family friend @superjupitermusic! ‘Torso’ is a deeply introspective house track that features fluttering synths gliding over sharp percussion, all while Scarlett contemplates the true meaning of her love for Joaquin.

Usually at home in the realm of techno with  @thisisempress, Jupiter is a real lover of all things electronic with several mixes and an EP under his belt. We’re so excited to be able to showcase his incredibly clean production with this new progressive track that’s bound to tug on the heartstrings.

"One of the happy accidents when experimenting with keys... I’d been hitting a wall writing a much heavier techno track and decided to take a break and write some melodies. This one came out pretty quickly, I recorded the third attempt and that one stuck. Stepping away from the minuscule details and just playing whatever came out was very liberating. 

I like it stripped back and simple. Feels more emotive and personal that way.”
