Google brings its ‘in-depth articles’ Search feature to the UK

Google brings its ‘in-depth articles’ Search feature to the UK

If you live in the UK, you may have noticed a slight tweak in the way Google Search results are displayed.

After launching in the US last August, the company is finally bringing its ‘in-depth articles’ feature to Britain. It can usually be found towards the bottom of the page and highlights three thought-provoking articles about your chosen keyword(s).

Google also links to a related topic, hoping that you’ll use its search engine as a self-contained research tool. The approach is similar to Wikipedia, with the hope being that you’ll be engrossed by a topic and read around it.

Notably, for its UK debut Google has omitted the ‘More in-depth articles‘ link, which gives US users the option to view up to 10 suggested articles about their original search query. On Google+, the company said it’ll be rolling the new feature out to everyone in the UK over the next few days.
