Jean-Claude Van Damme Says UFC Fighters Don’t Know How To Throw Kicks Correctly

Jean-Claude Van Damme apparently isn’t seeing enough slow-motion, triple-take spinning crescent kicks in the UFC right now, because he’s not impressed. TMZ Sports caught up with the still-lumber 55-year-old, and JCVD talked about the holes he sees in the stand-up game of current MMA fighters. In all seriousness, Van Damme looks like he can still throw some mean kicks, so maybe listening to him isn’t such a bad idea.

“I want to teach people how to have power and flexibility and dexterity with their legs. Right now it’s a mess,” he said.

In the video, JCVD also brings up Bill “Superfoot” Wallace, and if you don’t know who he is, then you don’t do MMA history well, son. Here’s a little clip of Wallace doing his thing. (Fast forward to the 3:15 mark to see a brilliant left roundhouse kick to the face.)

JCVD is no stranger to the UFC or its fighters. Van Damme can be seen regularly at UFC events, he’s thrown his hat in the ring to help train Conor McGregor, and Georges St-Pierre once said that it would have been his dream to fight him in his prime.

Now, let’s get back to JCVD’s infamous spinning kick. Can we please just see one UFC fighter KO his opponent using that technique?
