7 eco-chic homeware brands to know now

It's a minefield. We get it. So we've rounded up some of the brands we love who are treading lightly - and stylishly - so it's easier to choose wisely.

With a mission to offer a new generation of textiles: zero landfill, earth-friendly, recycled and made with the best possible fibres, Stitched is a refreshing new kid on the curtain block.

FABULOUS FLOORING

SLEEP SOUNDLY

Made with a combo of Tencel (a super-soft eco-friendly yarn made from Eucalyptus and other plant pulps) and long staple cotton, Undercover's bedlinen is a cool and conscious option.

There's a choice of three stylish duvet sets: Lido, Ponto and Jane, with a variety of co-ordinating fitted sheets and pillowcases, which can be mixed to create your own set, so you can nod off in no time, knowing your bedlinen is stylish and sustainable.

ARTISANAL ACCESSORIES

The latest collection of homewares from pattern pioneers, Patternity, is a collaboration with Zambian artisans, Tribal Textiles, who use a traditional hand painted, starch batik technique.Influenced by the textures seen in the surrounding area, such as tree bark, elephant skin and hot earth, Patternity founders, Anna Murray and Grace Winteringham, worked with Tribal Textiles to create a series of crackle pattern, geometric prints.

Applied to cotton cushion covers, table runners, throws, bags, aprons and oven gloves, in a selection of contemporary colour combos (monochrome, dusk pink, blue dawn and elephant grey), the result is a series of bold and beautiful handmade homewares.

FINE FURNITURE

Mater's new showroom popped up during Clerkenwell Design Week in May this year, but this aesthetically appealing, Scandi eco brand is available online, too. The Nestor chair is a great example of its wares. The simple design is crafted with FSC-certified beech wood, hemp fibre, paper cord and linen, and shows that ethical and elegant can go hand in hand.
