A year ago, Beyoncé's sixth solo album Lemonadeshook the world.

She's marking the one-year anniversary of Lemonade by rolling out the Formation Scholars program, which provides scholarships "to encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident," according to the official announcement.

The program —  which, obviously, shares a name with Beyoncé's Formation World Tour that launched shortly after the release of Lemonade — will offer four scholarships for the 2017-2018 school year to young women studying creative arts, music, literature or African-American studies.

Four schools are participating in the program: The Berklee College of Music, Parsons School of Design, Howard University, and Spelman College, with one student selected from each institution.

A host of current students flipped over the announcement -- some even saying they may change their major to be eligible.

But others pushed back, pointing out that there are other historically black colleges and universities that could benefit from the program. Howard and Spelman are HBCUs, while Berklee and Parsons are not.

Details about applying for the scholarships will be available directly though the schools' websites, according to the official announcement.
