The chopstick struggle is over. Meet the newest frankenfood of the hybrid food trend in Mumbai, the sushi burrito. San Francisco has been enjoying it, and making us jealous, for about four years now but the Japanese-Mexican fusion dish that was first introduced by hipster trucks in The Golden City, has officially arrived in Maximum City, courtesy Yogo Tokuchi, a gentleman from Tokyo and his wife. Aside from a mash-up of the classic sushi wrapped (and rolled) around bold Burrito-style fillings, Tokuchi has also dared to combine butter chicken, sushi and burrito. Because #WheninIndia

But as spent as the term 'hybrid' has become, Yugo's generously-stuffed wrap stars of Mumbai like Yugo's Tandoori Salmon Wrap and Tandoori Maguro are worth paying attention to. Rolled up with fresh produce that include onion, cucumber, pickled carrot, sushi rice, togarashi-spiced crushed potato chips, with creamy tandoori-spiced mayonnaise, flaky chunks of tuna and tandoori masala-spiked salmon fillings, the wraps reach the standard size of a burrito, meaning they're pretty huge. Yogu's sushi burritos, which are about six inches long, are basically sushi on crack. Also on the menu: Chicken Maki-Walla (sweet butter chicken with cucumber, picked carrots, sushi rice, lettuce in nori sheet) and Wasabi Surimi (light on the Indian spices but heavy on the meaty seafood filling).

You've got to admit that even though the idea of a butter chicken sushi burrito is somewhat repulsive, it's also a bit thrilling. Because why bite into just one food item when you can enjoy two at the same time.

Available at Yugo's Maki Sushi Pop-Up at Off The Hook, Sai Pooja building, 16th Road, Bandra West, every Friday-Sunday; starting at Rs 350
