It's all about guitars and their new technologies these days...but what happened with a good old tele?! Yep....No fancy stuff! Just a body, a neck, 2 pups a 3-way switch and 2 controls! There are many brands who are willing to take their guitars to a next level with technology. Ok, that's fine. But remember, it all comes from the one who plays it. Where are we going with this... Well, these days you can find a lot on the internet how to learn to play the guitar. There are a lot of online sources and youngsters have access to it all! Most of them search on You Tube for guitar lessons and explanations on how to play their beloved axe. But....be aware! There also a lot of videos out there that are made by beginners, showing what they already know about playing chords and etc... Notice that these aren't always correct! Just look for the video channels who has been around for a long time! The more videos on this channel, the better it will be to learn from this person. It means he or she has already experience. If you are still not sure, check their website and what they do. Are they in a band for a long time? How do others comment on their videos? Are they showing only one style of playing? Does the video shows good quality so you can see everything what they play? That's important as a start! Buy yourself some music books with tabs and see if the video your are watching is showing the same positions that they are explaining. The guitar itself.... Does it has to be an expensive axe? If it's your first, no, not exactly. But don't buy the cheapest one! Very cheap guitars often have very high action. Even in the high positions notes aren't scaled properly. You could adjust this but then again it's most likely the neck! Also, frets will cut your fingers because of the very bad quality. In the end you will buy another axe that will be a bit better but then again for the same amount of those 2 guitars you would be able to buy a good quality guitar from a known brand! So think twice before you decide!!
