Drone racing is this year's hottest sport, and one of the best videos yet has emerged showing two vehicles competing in a high-speed chase.

The video, giving a drone's eye view of the race, shows the two racing through hoops and round obstacles inside and outside a packed warehouse.

The two Impulse RC Alien 5 drones run three laps of the course before colliding, leaving the camera-equipped drone out of action.

Drone racing requires impressive reaction speeds and levels of control. The pilots often use first-person view headsets with a link to the camera to fly the drones.

The video was uploaded by drone propellor seller Propsman.

At the end of the video, the drone that is filming appears to catch and overtake its competitor, before it is hit by its rival when coming the same way.

As drones have become increasingly popular and advanced, drone racing has taken off.

There is now a drone racing league in the US, which is set to begin later in February at the Sun  Life Stadium, the home of the Miami Dolphins NFL team. Stephen Ross, the Dolphins' owner, has invested $1 million (£690,000) in the sport, and Muse's Matt Bellamy is also an investor.

A second race will be held in an abandoned shopping centre is Los Angeles.
