This Millennial Marketer Helped One Brand Get Over 1 Million Likes On Facebook

This article is more than 8 years old.

I hope you're ready for Caroline Beaton.

As an editor for news and media site Elephant Journal, Beaton has helped the site reach over 1 million likes on Facebook while winning over an impressive list of contributors and an overly loyal subsection of Millennial readers.

Now she is taking her knowledge of the millennials, skills as a creative writer and marketer, research-based approach to content and campaign generation, and eagerness to educate others to new clients who wish to tap into some of her successes at Elephant Journal.

As Beaton explained to me, "I understand millennials —and not just because I am one. I've spent hundreds of hours figuring out what drives us, what makes us curious, and what we care about. Because of this I'm able to use these insights with each of my clients to tailor their marketing strategies toward a younger demographic."

As an award-winning writer, Beaton has spent the last few years delivering important and cutting edge business research on our generation to our peers. Her articles, research, and online academies like the one she grew for Elephant Journal have pushed her readers to (in her words), "stop wasting time, figure out their life's purpose, and create a livelihood around the career they want."

There's a huge opportunity for brands to capitalize on new trends out there around millennials yearning to craft their own careers, develop themselves outside of and beyond traditional schooling, and possibly even start new businesses or at least act intrapreneurially within other companies. Beaton knows this and is hitting the streets (or at least sharpening her pencils while banging out letters on the keyboard and tweeting her latest article) consulting with such companies.

Her speciality? Engineering accessible, concise, and convincing online campaigns that resonate with millennials. If Gary Vaynerchuk were about twenty years younger, female, softer spoken, statistics-driven, and more generic in his approach to marketing rather than social media centric, he'd probably be Beaton.

Why is Beaton so impressive?

Over the last few years of my research identifying and connecting world-class millennial talent, I've yet to come across someone who is so talented at writing, yet so focused on providing the facts, and packages all of that as marketing solutions other companies and individuals can tap into as well. Being able to articulate, educate, and influence is astounding, given that those skills are not normally complementary. Beaton's ability to tie it all together makes her unique.

Get to know her now before she runs her course as one of the marketing world's best-kept secrets in targeting Millennials.
