Macromolecules- The Murder Mystery Lab really sparked some interest in me because I just found it very cool how we could identify what restaurant the victim was at the night before. I also thought it was interesting because it felt like we were actually solving a murder which felt kind of cool. I also liked how there was a variety of different things the victim ate and some could’ve been at multiple places which made it more challenging and fun. Cell Transport- The Grape Osmosis Lab was also very interesting because I didn’t know that by adding various ingredient, the grape could change in size and texture. This lab also taught me more about cell transportation and hypotonic, isotonic, and hypertonic. Seeing the grapes change and not change really showed me the difference hypertonic, isotonic, and hypotonic and how each of them have their own characteristics. http://flip.it/KqeYDR
Collaboration/ Teamwork- In the hokey poke it lab, the lab to see if the bag will leak when you poke a pencil in it, there was a lot of teamwork and collaboration to be done. The person sitting down and holding the bag on top of their head had to be cooperating with the person putting the pencil through the bag to make sure that the pencil goes in all the way through the bag at the proper level. This was also very interesting because I thought that the water would start leaking but it actually didn’t. http://flip.it/jor9k_
Study skills& learning new information-I personally feel like the chapter map sparks an interest in me of what we will be learning. I feel like when we do these chapter maps and we get a preview of what we are learning, we could start learning about it and develop an interest for it. I also believe that it is a great study tool while studying because if you have to go to a specific section or a specific figure, you don’t have to keep flipping through the book. You could just go to your chapter map and read a brief description of the figure or go to your chapter map and see in what section the topic you are looking for is. http://flip.it/vVsbT2
