Jumping Spider

Phidippus adumbratus

Description:

Muted gray and tan, female spider with patterned abdomen. The chelicera are blue/green as found in the Phidippus genus.

Habitat:

Front yard moving from one bush to another on a web. I saw her moving and I put my hand out. She crawled on and did a 360 turn for me. I placed her on the bush she was going to, unharmed.

LOL. Khaaaannn... as in the Wrath Of? That gave me a good belly laugh. How could anyone not love such a cute little face. Great series, Cindy, and I'll be smiling all day after seeing this :-)

So beautiful

Thank you everyone!
Al, you are definitely not the only person that avoids touching spiders! Normally I avoid interacting with any wild animal but the Jumpers here are very calm and usually end up jumping on my camera or hand anyway ;)

Not to be the odd man out, but I'm terrified of spiders and I think my first reaction putting a spider on my hand would be to cry, not grab my camera. Kudos to your bravery for handling such a vicious specimen!
