Ohio State loss creates shakeup in the NCAA 1-128 Re-rank

Ohio State’s loss to Penn State upends the top five in this week’s USA TODAY Sports 1-128 re-rank of the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Everyone moves a step closer to No. 1, currently occupied by Alabama. The new top five: Crimson Tide, No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Washington, No. 4 Clemson and No. 5 Louisville.

And what of Ohio State? The Buckeyes fall five spots to No. 7. Texas A&M, which suffered its first loss of the season in a 33-14 setback at Alabama, falls four spots to No. 10.

The revised top 10 also includes two Group of Five teams: No. 8 Boise State, which narrowly got past Brigham Young, and No. 9 Western Michigan, which defeated rival Eastern Michigan.

New to the top 25: Auburn, Washington State and Navy.

Out of the top 25: Houston, South Florida and Arkansas.
