A simple church must meet in a regular place as much as possible. Although it's not wrong to move around every now and then, it would be good if there is one place where you meet each time. This place must be a place where people will not feel threatened. It should be a place that is welcoming and relational. A house is such a place. A person's house is an extension of himself or herself, and to be invited to such a place is to be invited into that person's life. Therefore, it is important to retain that personal atmosphere at all times. This is the reason why your agenda must be simple. Turning the meeting into a Bible study or a mini service will alter the nature of the gathering. There is a place for such things, usually formal places of worship, i.e. church buildings. Instead when you gather in a home, eat together with glad and sincere hearts, share what's going on in your lives and what you're learning from the Lord, and pray for each other. Make your gatherings natural yet spiritual. There's no need to be stiff. Meet as friends in a friend's house. That's what a simple church is all about.
