Man arrested Saturday at Elizabeth Warren's event in Storm Lake

A Minnesota man was arrested Saturday after causing a disturbance at a Storm Lake event hosted by potential Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, local police report.

According to a release, Storm Lake officers were providing security for the afternoon rally when they saw Randal James Thom, 58, of Lakefield, Minnesota, become "very vocal" and "aggressive."

Police also said Thom "attempted to assault others in the crowd" while Warren, a U.S. senator from Massachusetts, greeted attendees outside the venue.

Reporters present at the event noted that Thom was a supporter of President Donald Trump.

Storm Lake police said Thom was charged with disorderly conduct and booked into Buena Vista County Jail on a $300 bond. No injuries were reported.
