Awarded a “Best of the Best” award at the Red Dot Design Awards, Kaffeeform coffee, espresso and travel cups are fairly simple to understand — they’re coffee transporting cups made out of used coffee grounds. For those unaware, coffee grounds present a significant waste issue for an evergrowing coffee industry in that they’re hard to make, well, go away. So, Kaffeeform began collecting these used grounds from local shops in its hometown of Berlin, drying them and compressing them with proprietary biopolymers into little cup molds.
The cups, which start around $18, are all dishwasher friendly, lightweight, biodegradable, individually unique in look and, apparently, smell slightly of coffee still. They’re all available now.
