February is a short month and we have just about one week left before March shoulders its way onto the calendar.
That means a whole slew of new TV shows, movies and Netflix Originals are headed to the streaming service. February has been a great month, with shows like The Dragon Prince returning to Netflix (see the February lineup here) and March looks like another win for Netflix subscribers.
Let's take a look at some of the highlights before moving on to the complete list.
As always, the first of the month sees the biggest content drop, especially for movies. The huge martial arts hit Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon spins its way onto Netflix that day, along with the controversial 1971 Stanley Kubrick classic A Clockwork Orange, based on the novel by Anthony Burgess. If you haven't seen it yet, I definitely recommend A Clockwork Orange as it's one of the best dystopian films ever made, but be warned: It is not an easy film to watch, filled with graphic violence including rape scenes.
Acclaimed chick flick The Notebook lands on Netflix on the first as well, which should please fans of Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams and Nicholas Sparks.
Later on in the month we'll get to watch Christopher Robin (March 5th) a film I missed in theaters. I hear it's good!
On March 7th, the new Netflix Original Series The Order debuts. The plot sounds interesting. It follows "college freshman Jack Morton, who joins a fabled secret society, The Order, where he is thrust into a world of magic, monsters and intrigue. As Jack goes deeper, he uncovers dark family secrets and an underground battle between werewolves and the magical dark.
Shadow, a Netflix Original film about an ex-cop turned vigilante in Johannesburg, South Africa who can't feel pain, lands on March 8th. It looks really interesting actually. Here's the trailer:
Probably my most hotly-anticipated Netflix Original of the month lands on March 29th. The Highwaymen stars Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner as they track down the infamous criminals and killers, Bonnie and Clyde. You might want to watch the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty first. Here's the trailer for The Highwaymen:
I see Kathy Bates in there as well. Fans of Fear The Walking Dead will also notice Kim Dickens (Madison) across from Costner. Speaking of Kevin Costner, this takes me back to his most famous lawman role in The Untouchables, which is such a terrific film.
