WHEN IS IT ENOUGH is a film based on true events. It highlights the ills of domestic violence against women. Daniel Ademinokan wrote and directed the movie in 2012 based on an article of the same title written by Nigerian movie icon Stella Damasus. For so many years, Stella Damasus has fought for the rights of women and children in Nigeria and Africa. As an ambassador for PROJECT ALERT, she helped to rescue and seek justice for women who have been victims of domestic violence and various forms of abuse. On why he made the film, Daniel stated, "When I read the article, WHEN IS IT ENOUGH, I could relate with it clearly because I grew up in a home with a family where our mother raised us to be kind, gentle and loving, but also had a father who could not control his temper. I witnessed his brutality towards my mother and that is why this story struck a chord in my heart." In 2012, with a crew of just 4 people, Daniel Ademinokan decided to make it into a film and hopes it opens people's eyes to see beyond what they already know about Domestic Violence. It is not just an African problem. It is a global problem. It's been 5 years but the issues of domestic violence that the film addresses is still as relevant today, if not even more. "I'm not ashamed to say that as a child, I grew up in a home where I saw the effect of domestic violence up close and personal. No Woman or Child should ever experience that. I believe this is the right time to push this film out to the world especially at a time where women are eventually speaking up and breaking out of the bondage of 'THE CODE OF SILENCE' and stigma attached to Domestic Violence", Mr. Ademinokan stated definitively. For Stella Damasus, who stars in the movie, this story is based on a true story of someone close to her. In her own words, "Reliving the experience again, while making the film, was like a nightmare but somehow, I was able to push through it because my focus was on the bigger picture of telling the story right, especially with a director as visionary as Daniel. I'm glad he finally agreed to release this for the public to see, considering how this issue is no longer regarded as a problem with less privileged or poor people, but for the high and mighty in society. A lot of women (and some men) go through this but are too afraid to speak up. I am just glad that Daniel is releasing this film for everyone to see." Until now, this film was never released to the general public.
