Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has blocked a resolution to release special counsel Robert Mueller's report.

President Donald Trump told the press in the Oval Office on Monday that he believes the report should be published for the public to view, noting that he had nothing to hide.

"Yes! Let's see it all because there's nothing there," echoed Trump campaign spokesperson Kayleigh MCenany.

McConnell on Monday blocked a non-binding resolution calling for Mueller's full report to be made public. The resolution was passed unanimously in the House.

Jamison Foser, of NextGenAmerica, observed that this is yet another example of McConnell trying to bar Americans from knowing what's happening when it comes to Russia. In 2016, President Barack Obama was barred by McConnell from telling Americans what was happening. The news came as part of a speech from former Vice President Joe Biden, who recalled the moment made him think "the die had been cast ... this was all about the political play."

"It is deeply disturbing that the Obama administration was apparently insufficiently prepared to anticipate and counter these Russian threats," McConnell said Monday.

The internet was quick to rail against McConnell for not support the release of the report, which 80 percent of Americans want to see. It also puts him in conflict with the president himself.
