Earlier this week we had our second look at what could be HTC's next flagship smartphone, the One M10, and now we might know what its next mid-range device looks like too. Serial leaker Evan Blass tweeted six images of a phone he identified as the HTC A16. Although he provided no additional specs or information, the phone bears more than a passing resemblance to the most recent entry in HTC's mid-range Desire series: the Desire 626.

This could be the next new HTC phone we see

The leaked images show a phone with sizable bezels above and below the display, as well as what look like speaker holes top and bottom (the design of which have changed from regimented lines of smaller holes, to two lines of larger, stacked holes). Just like the Desire 626, the phone also has a largish camera lens on the back, and a smaller circle underneath it for what is presumably the flash.

New touches that aren't visible on the 626 include a pair of holes on the bottom left of the rear of the device, which could be used for a lanyard, and a new button layout on the device's right edge. (This looks very similar to the design of the HTC One A9, with a volume rocker on top, and a ridged unlock button below.) Everything about this phone is an unknown apart from what we can see, but with the flagship M10 rumored not to be launching until months later this year, this could be possibly be the next HTC phone we see in real life.
