Turns out that meditating for 15-minutes each day is quivalent to taking a mini vacation. Researchers examined data from students who meditated for 15 minutes per day for two non-consecutive 2-week periods. When the students meditated they reported lower levels of negative emotions and higher levels of positive emotions such as gratefulness. Meditation and vacations appeared to have overlapping effects. The study found that both meditation practices and vacationing were associated with higher levels of well eing and increased mindfulness.
