US navy releases terrifying UFO footage showing ‘whole fleet’ of mystery objects rotating and speeding across the sky over Florida
THE US Navy has released footage of a “whole fleet” of UFOs buzzing around the sky over Florida.
Newly released footage from 2015 shot off the coast of Jacksonville gives the world a first glimpse of the classified mission on which they were seen.
A veteran Navy pilot witnessing the raft of anomalous aerial vehicles was awestruck by what he had witnessed during the training exercise.
He exclaimed: 'There's a whole fleet of them. Look at that thing, it's rotating.”
The video's release comes less than a week after three US senators were reportedly briefed by the Pentagon about recent reports of UFO sightings by Navy pilots.
One of those senators was Mark Warner, the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, whose spokesperson said: “If naval pilots are running into unexplained interference in the air, that's a safety concern Senator Warner believes we need to get to the bottom of.”
The briefing was delivered by the US Navy and included staff from the Under Secretary of Defence for Intelligence, it according to Politico.
How many alien and UFO sightings have there been?
The number of UFO sightings is currently flying at an all-time high
According to data cruncher and blogger Sam Monfort there are around 45,000 annual reported sightings in the US.
He also says there have been more than 100,000 recorded UFO sightings in the past 100-plus years.
The first recorded flyby occurred in Portland in 1905, where viewers reported seeing a “buzzing” sphere-shaped UFO that descended from the heavens.
Sightings have spiked dramatically over the past 30-plus years with mysterious lights taking over from saucers as the most popular description of objects spotted.
The National UFO Reporting Centre is an organisation that investigates sightings.
Since it was set up in 1974, reports have been sent to it via its 24 hour hotline and it says that between May and June this year there have been more than 500 new sightings.
The United States collectively reports 2,500 sightings per 10 million people, which is 300 times more than the global median.
It is understood that these briefings have been on the rise since it was revealed that the Pentagon's secretive Aerospace Threat Identification Program continues to investigate reported sightings of UFOs.
Ed Booth, an aviation expert, studied the footage and said Navy pilots are highly trained to report these sightings.
He told News4Jax: “What this object is that shows up in this video remains to be seen.
“It's very interesting. It's certainly moving in ways atmospheric aircraft are not capable of moving.”
He added that seeing more pictures, or even wreckage, would shed more light on what the pilots saw.
