Summer is coming to a close, and that is sad. However, we can’t wait for the fall TV lineup to begin again. Not only are some of our long-time favorites, like “Grey’s Anatomy,” returning, but some newer dramas, like “Sleepy Hollow” are also on the slate.

But maybe it is time to branch out a bit and explore some new shows. To make sure you’re prepared for some valuable couch potato time, we’ve partnered with XFINITY to bring you the shows you should be watching right now. Leave the skepticism behind and trust us on these.

Get these shows and more preloaded when you have the the X1 Entertainment Operating System. Only from XFINITY.

Airs:
Wednesdays at 8pm on FOX
Season 13 premieres on September 10

Why you should tune in: You’ll see all of the mouth-watering food you’d expect from a cooking show, with an added twist of drama you’d expect from a reality show. At the very least, it will make you feel lucky you don’t have a boss like Gordon Ramsay. (Unless you do.)

Airs:
Tuesdays at 10pm on CBS
Season 4 premieres on September 23

Why you should tune in: This may seem like your typical crime drama, but really it’s so much more. “Person of Interest” has the techie element of a computer that can predict crimes before they even happen.

Airs:
Mondays at 8pm on FOX
Season 2 premieres on September 22

Why you should tune in: This super suspenseful televised version of Washington Irving’s 1820 short story will have you on the edge of your seat. Season 2 introduces many new characters, including Sakina Jaffrey (Linda Vasquez from “House of Cards”), who will play a threatening sheriff. The theme song was also nominated for an Emmy this year.

Airs:
Thursdays at 8pm on ABC
Season 11 premieres on September 25

Why you should tune in: We’ve been through many ups and downs through the last nine years, and this upcoming season looks to be no different. Now that Dr. Cristina Yang (played by Sandra Oh) is gone, it’s anyone’s guess what will happen next.

Airs:
Wednesdays at 8:30pm on ABC
Season 2 premieres on September 24

Why you should tune in: Think of the retro feel from “That ‘70s Show” mixed with the silliness of “The Middle.” And the best (or most painful) part? Much of the show is based on creator Adam Goldberg’s real-life childhood.

Airs:
Wednesdays at 8pm on CBS
Season 29 premieres September 24

Why you should tune in: Yes, you read that correctly. Survivor is beginning its 29th season this month. But that doesn’t mean the show has gotten less exciting. This season, which will take place in Nicaragua, pits loved ones against one another in what the network is calling a “blood versus water” contest. Now THAT’S how you create some real drama.

Airs:
Tuesdays at 9:30pm on NBC
Season 2 premieres October 14

Why you should tune in: What’s not to love about witty banter between Minnie Driver and the ever-so-charming David Walton (Dr. Sam in “New Girl”)? We can’t wait to see what new “fatherly advice” Walton has up his sleeve for Driver’s preteen son.

Airs:
Wednesdays on USA
Currently in its 4th season

Why you should tune in: The handsome lawyer duo (Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams) is always hard at work … or hard at pretending to work. With recent job changes and the drama that came with those, the rest of this season and the newly renewed next season are sure to be a hit.

Airs:
Wednesdays at 10pm on USA
Season 2 is currently in progress

Why you should tune in: This show is what happens when “The O.C.” meets “CSI.” You get both crime drama and beautiful people. Need we say more?

Airs:
Tuesdays on USA
New season begins this winter

Why you should tune in: Mark Feuerstein is brilliant as a concierge doctor working in the Hamptons. His crazy medical tactics are always suspect, but somehow they seem to work out in the end. If you thought House M.D. had some bizarre ideas, this show takes that concept to whole new level.
