We love just about any brand that takes the time to think about what we, as women, really want and need. What will make our lives easier? Better? More fun? And of course, more fashionable? The team over at Skullcandy has been doing just that, and this week released a range of headphones exclusively for women.

Three styles have been launched–the Knockout, the Bombshell, and the Dime–all developed with comfort, style, and even hygiene in mind, and engineered by the best in the biz to support research that proves women and men hear differently.

"The truth is, there are real anatomical, acoustical, and behavioral differences in how male and female consumers experience sound," Michelle Whitehead, Skullcandy's director of brand and sports marketing told ELLE.com. We learned, for instance, that women are more sensitive to high-pitched sounds than men are, are able to hear softer sounds than men, and at the most basic level, have differently shaped heads and ears, making unisex headphones fairly impractical.

"Our goal was to understand these differences well enough to design products that would legitimately improve the audio experience for our female consumer."

With Chloe Nørgaard as the face of the first collection, it's no surprise the headphones look as good as they sound, coming in a floral print, robin's egg blue, and of course, basic black (everything looks cooler in black, right?). And we have no problem getting behind their very bold, very accurate mission statement: "products for women should be engineered to actually fit women and what we want."
