The Holy Grail of Winter Boots: They're Warm, Waterproof, and Not Silly-Looking

I couldn't tell you, for sure, how much of my life I've wasted agonizing over winter boot-buying decisions. For years I've searched for the perfect cold-weather footwear: something warm, waterproof, and slip-resistant but still respectable enough to wear to work at Glamour HQ. Well, guess what. I think I've finally found the Holy Grail of winter boots. Say hello to L.K. Bennett's "Warren" tumbled leather winter boots. I've been obsessed with L.K. Bennett for a long time—it's a favorite footwear brand of Kate Middleton's, and I love how the brand makes classic styles that are just-this-side of ordinary. Anyhoo, I was doing my usual casual Friday-night Shopstyle.com search, spotted the Warrens, and ordered them immediately. They arrived last night, and let me just affirm that they are everything I'd hope they'd be—i.e., they fulfill the four most important criteria I require in winter boots. Slip-proof: I'm a total klutz and slip on at least five ice patches every winter. These boots have a serious lug sole that'll help me stay upright this season.

Warm: The Warrens are lined in shearling—so they're basically like an Ugg boot on the inside.

Not silly-looking: Modeled after work-boots-slash-biker-boots, these aren't nearly as goofy-looking as my puffer knee-high ski boots. See how they go with dresses too?
