This Jeep CJ-8 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1984 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler was purchased by the seller 18 months ago from its previous owner in Austin, Texas. The truck had been kept mostly stock and was towed to Colorado annually behind the previous owner’s motor home. After bringing the Jeep back to Austin, the seller decided to thoroughly refurbish and modify it to the tune of spending $27,426.78 on upgrades. All associated receipts accompany the sale. Highlights include a repaint in Anvil Gray, HID headlights, a body lift, Bilstein shocks and various upgraded suspension components, Warn bumpers, a Smittybilt front winch, new 17″ Method wheels with BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, a refreshed interior with an all-new A/C system, and more. Power comes from a rebuilt fuel-injected 360ci V8 paired to a Torqueflite automatic transmission. This Scrambler has been driven just 254 miles since the refresh was completed, and is now being offered with the aforementioned receipts and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

Recent exterior modifications include HID headlamps, Warn steel front and rear bumpers, front-mounted Rigid driving lights, and a Smittybilt XRC front winch. The bed features a spray-on liner and is further highlighted in the gallery below.

The air conditioning system runs R134 and was just overhauled. The stereo system features a Pioneer CD player hidden in the center console with two large speakers mounted underneath the dashboard as depicted below. The speedometer cluster runs via GPS through a sensor mounted on the hood below the windshield. Bosch auxiliary oil pressure and voltage gauges are mounted to the right of the speedometer. The odometer shows just 254 miles since all recent work was completed, and total chassis mileage is unknown.

The 360ci V8 was converted to fuel-injection and rebuilt around 2015-2016 during the previous owner’s time with the truck. It features a Performance Distributors distributor, upgraded ignition wires, polished Edelbrock valve covers, a polished Spectre air cleaner, and more. According to the seller, the engine needs to be warmed up for a few minutes before driving, or it may stall.
