This Week's TV: At Long Last, the Debut of Marvel's Jessica Jones!

We may earn a commission from links on this page.

Jessica Jones comes to Netflix, Man in the High Castle streams on Amazon, and Marceline the Vampire Queens gets her own four-part miniseries on Adventure Time! A deadly Grant Morrison character swoops in on Gotham, a Jim Henson project is thawed in time for Thanksgiving, and Clara’s future is revealed on Doctor Who! All this, and Livewire in live-action! It’s on this week’s TV!

Monday

Adventure Time (8PM, CARTOON)

Tomb it may concern: The four-night Marceline miniseries begins!

Gotham (8PM, FOX)

“Gordon and Barnes continue cleaning up Gotham, and Gordon comes face-to-face with one of the city’s most dangerous hitmen, Eduardo Flamingo (guest star Raul Castillo). Meanwhile, Nygma and Penguin cross paths again, and Bruce pressures Galavan into handing over the name of his parents’ murderer.”

I don’t think anyone could have guessed that the first live-action depiction of a Grant Morrison character would be EDUARDO FLAMINGO, but here we are—and I’m incredibly excited to see the fuchsia face-eater in action.

Knock it out of the park, Mr. Castillo!

Supergirl (8PM, CBS)

Brit Morgan (The Budd Boetticher-loving Lacey Thornfield from The Middleman) debuts as LIVEWIRE, the shock jock DJ turned electric phantom! Will the episode be as good as Superman Adventures #5, the best Livewire story ever?

Wander Over Yonder (8:30, DISNEY XD)

“Wander convinces a down-on-his-luck villain to spend a day looking on the bright side of things instead of collecting the souls of others.”

That sounds fun. Followed by a new series called Pickle & Peanut—the pilot to which is called “Sewer Shark”, like the Sega CD game!

Minority Report (9PM, FOX)

Not sure why the promo says, “in two weeks”, since sources indicate it is definitely airing tonight… but if it is, it’s out of my hands. I am but a Watcher, committed to observe, but never interfere.

Blindspot (10PM, NBC)

“Jane and Weller go undercover as a world-class assassin couple to prevent deadly information from getting into the wrong hands. The intimate assignment draws them closer than ever.”

How do you “go undercover” as a world-class assassin couple? Are there power couples in the murder game, respected by their peers but unknown to the rest of us? Is that their Ecks vs. Sever-inspired cover story?

Anyway, it’s the penultimate episode before the fall finale.
