Driver Blows Past Train Crossing, Hits Car, Rolls Back into Passing Train

A vehicle rolled into a train after colliding with another vehicle in Hancock County on Wednesday.

A press release from the Hancock County Sheriff’s office says that a car driven by 20 year old Halee Eichman of Augusta crossed the railroad tracks by the intersection of North County and East County, ignoring the approaching train warnings. Eichman’s vehicle collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 20 year old Jhalen Williams of Macomb.

Eichman and a passenger in her car then exited her vehicle. That’s when the vehicle rolled backwards into a moving BNSF train, which drug the vehicle about 85 feet down the tracks.

Nobody was injured. Eichman was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and disobeying the crossing signal.
