Rise of the Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics has promised that the game will include more actual tomb raiding than its predecessor, and we're here with some evidence of that.

Crystal Dynamics' series reboot from 2013 included a number of optional, off-the-beaten-path "challenge tombs," each of which featured one major puzzle for Lara Croft to solve before she could get to a treasure chest. Rise of the Tomb Raider will have Lara raid tombs as part of the main storyline, and we played through the first one, "Prophet's Tomb."

The tombs in the story won't be very difficult, since Crystal Dynamics doesn't want players to get stuck on them. But Rise of the Tomb Raider will also include more challenge tombs, and Rich Briggs, brand director at the studio, told Polygon that their puzzles will require a lot more brainpower than before. Briggs added that this time around, the challenge tombs will offer "significant rewards," not just items like treasure maps.

You can watch us play through "Prophet's Tomb" in the 15-minute video above, which we captured directly from an Xbox One. There aren't any cutscenes in the clip, so you don't have to worry about spoilers. Rise of the Tomb Raider launches Nov. 10 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One; in early 2016 on Windows PC; and next holiday season on PlayStation 4.
