There are tons of reasons to love spring: Flowers are in bloom, birds are chirping, and it's so nice out that you don't have to spend a good 30 minutes convincing yourself to get off the couch already and go for an outdoor run. Well, here's one more reason to add to the mix: Spring produce may help you slim down. We checked in with Keri Gans, R.D., author of The Small Change Diet, for her suggestions on the best in-season fruits and veggies to load up on if you're trying to lose weight. Fill your (farmer's market) basket with these babies, and you'll be beach body-ready in no time!

Artichokes
These are stereotypically a West Coast food, but they're actually available (and delicious) everywhere. And they're not only loaded with feel-full fiber, they also have a lot of protein, another ingredient that keeps you satiated for longer—and thus prevents overeating. Artichokes are also very low-cal—just 60 calories each!

Asparagus
These green veggies are amazing for weight loss. Each spear is only four calories, and they're a good source of fiber and other vitamins, too, like folate and vitamins K, B, C, and A.
