We all know Batkid rolls around town in a two-car fleet of Bat-Lamborghinis, which is reasonably phenomenal. But for his next crime-fighting spree, he might want to consider this pitch-perfect replica of the Batmobile from the mid-'60s TV series. Built by a 10-person team in Indiana called the Fiberglass Freaks, the retro Batmobile is available via Hammacher Schlemmer for just $200,000.
Driving this Batmobile around is street legal, but using some of the contraptions tucked within this beautiful machine may not be. Fire actually shoots out of the back of it, thanks to its flamethrower-equipped faux exhaust. (It also comes with its own Bat fire extinguisher tucked between its two seats.) There's a 180-degree Emergency Bat-Turn lever which unfortunately doesn't work because the parachute packs mounted on the back bumper are empty. But you will get a fully operational Batphone, plus an only-for-decoration Batscope display. Those rims? Bat-rims.
Even if you eliminate all of its gadgetry, this is still an impressive ride. Just like the iconic TV-show vehicle it's based on, the body of each 430-horsepower replica echoes that of the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car. You'll peer through a bubble-canopy windshield, open its doors with a unique push-down door handle, and salivate over its fins and menacing fascia.
It's fun to pretend you won't buy one for reasons other than sticker shock, so consider these drawbacks. Parallel parking might be a bit of an issue, because this car is almost 19 feet long. Everyone will want to steal it. And it has a rotating light on top of it, which is illegal to use while driving, but may be too enticing not to turn on. Same goes for the flamethrower, actually.
