‘Thimbleweed Park’, A Classic Point-and-Click Adventure Game About Two Detectives by the Creators of ‘Maniac Mansion’

Thimbleweed Park is a classic point-and-click adventure game about two detectives by Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick. Gilbert and Winnick are perhaps best known for designing the 1987 graphic adventure game Maniac Mansion while part of Lucasfilm Games, which would later become LucasArts in 1990. Gilbert and Winnick are currently raising funds to develop Thimbleweed Park via a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.

The idea behind the game came during a discussion between the two about the good old days.

“Wouldn’t it be fun to make one of those again?”, Gary said.

“Yeah”, I replied as a small tear forming in the corner of my eye*.

A few seconds later I said “Let’s do a Kickstarter!”.

After a long pause, Gary said “OK”.
