During the current lockdown, a range of book reading, ballet dancing and baking activities have been popping up online to help parents create a sense of routine for their kids at home, while continuing their education and development.

The Little Gym's online classes have been keeping little ones active for weeks now in free videos on YouTube, and fans of the classes will be very excited to hear about its new offering. The success of the pre-recorded classes has encouraged it to launch a whole weekly timetable of live classes on Youtube.

The super fun gymnastics classes are developed with different age groups in mind, but all designed to do at home. All four pre-recorded classes will continue to be released on Thursdays with the new live classes detailed in the timetable below.

Staying active is so important for health and mood right now – and it should help kids to burn a bit of energy. The Little Gym's sessions should help keep them moving and tire them out just a little bit.

The parent and child classes will focus on early years development for babies aged four to 18 months, while a second session is available for tots aged 19 months to three years. Week two, for example, focuses on activities to develop the vestibular sense for babies and toddlers respectively. This sense is also known as the balance control centre, and develops through lots of rotations and spinning.

Meanwhile, the pre-school classes for three to six-year-olds really level up the fun with themes like Dinosaurs or 'The Little Zoo', where children are shown how to jump like a monkey or kick like a donkey.

And, for the bigger kids, it gets serious, with a gymnastics bootcamp challenge for ages six to 12 – a class experience to get your child moving, learning and keeping fit at home.

Kate Henebury, Owner of The Little Gym Leeds and Harrogate, said in a release: "Children respond particularly well to routine and structure and being able to take part in The Little Gym at Home’s weekly lessons offers parents a combination of routine and physical activity for children aged 4 months to 12 years.

"‘Serious Fun’ is an essential part of all our daily routines and the mental health of our children during this challenging time is something we at The Little Gym feel passionate about helping the community address.”
