An Australian worker's epic meltdown over the vintage features of his brand new work ute has gone viral after he posted the rant on TikTok.

CrankyAussie uploaded the foul-mouthed review after he was stunned by his new company Toyota Landcruiser ute which looks like a throwback to a previous age.

Unlike the slick interior of the latest Toyota Hilux utes, the no-nonsense Series 79 Landcruiser abandons mod-cons in favour of bulletproof unbreakable components.

But it sent bearded mineworker CrankyAussie into overdrive.

'This is our new work ute,' he says on the video. 'They paid $90,000 for this once the trailer's been put on.

'And LOOK at that f***ing air con set up!'

The camera zooms in on archaic slider controls and dial with a caption 'This is going to Russell (sic) a few feathers.'

'What the F***,' he screams as he jiggles the controls in disgust. 'What is this,  nineteen-ninety-f***ing-three??'

As he points the camera at the steering wheel, he blasts: 'It's got a steering wheel that looks like it's out of a Camry from 2001.

'WHERE'S ME F***ING BUTTONS, YOU C***S!

'Arrgggh,' he sighs in horror. ' And the dash? Like, it's 2020 (sic) you c***s and this is NINETY grand.

'Look at this!'

The mineworker opens the plastic centre console to reveal limited storage space and he demands: 'LOOK! What do I put in there? A box of TicTacs? 

'Why people buy these f***ing things is f***ing beyond me!'

The clip ends with a close up of the ute's manual window winder, with no electric button in sight.

'Oooooooooo,' yells CrankyAussie. 'WHAT IS THAT??'

The shape of 70-series Toyota LandCruisers - which includes the the 79-series ute model - dates back to 1984, and still sells in large numbers, with 604 sold last month alone.  

CrankyAussie's hilarious video has been seen over 1.2 million times since it was posted on Sunday.

Viewers defended the ute by insisting it was built for function and reliability rather than creature comforts.

'It's a Landcruiser - I don't think you understand what that means,' wrote one. 'It's exactly what it's supposed to be.'

Another added: 'Toyota made it like this to keep things simple.'

Others questions the value for money the ute represented, while one added: 'How many vehicles is that thing made out of?'

But most just found the clip funny. 'I'm dead,' said one. 'Epic dramatic melt down, lol!'
