Barcelona prepare to offer Manchester United a deal in the upcoming winter transfer market
Both Manchester United and Barcelona kickstarted their Champions League campaign in great fashion. The Red Devils once again managed to get the better of Paris Saint-Germain through a late winner by Marcus Rashford as they did the same two seasons ago. Meanwhile, the Catalans bounced back from their devasting Champions League knockout last season, with a resounding victory against Ferencvaros at the Camp Nou.

Manchester United and Barca were in constant touch during the summer transfer market as the Red Devils were eager on signing Ousmane Dembele. Meanwhile, the Catalans were hoping that they could load off their 105 million euro signing on a loan deal to United as the club had set their sights on Memphis Depay.
Barca believed that getting rid of Dembele would create enough space in the wage budget to meet Depay’s demands as the former Red Devils winger is one of the best-paid players in France. However, unfortunately, the Catalans were not able to load off Ousmane Dembele as the French superstar did not want to leave the Camp Nou.
It has now been reported that all the paperwork was complete as well for the deal to go through, however, a last-minute decision from Dembele saw the deal fall through. France Football now reports that Barca has not given up on the idea of getting rid of the Frenchman to sign Memphis Depay who is desperately wanted by Ronald Koeman.
The Catalans will once again renegotiate terms with Manchester United and Dembele’s agent in the winter transfer market. The Red Devils are in the need of a right-winger and given the fact that Dembele can play on either wing, it seems like their best shot at the moment is the former Dortmund man.
