This 1980 Triumph TR8 convertible was originally delivered to Baltimore, Maryland, and was acquired by the seller in December 2018. Power comes from a 3.5-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, and the car is finished in Platinum Metallic with a black convertible top over a navy blue check interior. Service during current ownership is said to include replacing the exhaust system, repairing the thermostat housing, and replacing the thermostat. The car is modified with electronic ignition and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. This TR8 is now offered with a car cover, factory service manual, four sets of keys, seat covers, spare parts, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.

The exterior is finished in Platinum Metallic (MCA) with blue pinstripes and was reportedly repainted in 2013. Features include a black convertible soft top, a luggage rack, rubber bumpers, a front spoiler, fog lights, and pop-up headlights.

Factory 13″ alloy wheels wear Ironman GR906 tires that are said to have been mounted during current ownership. A spare tire is stored beneath the trunk floor. The rear wheel cylinders and brake fluid were replaced in September 2018.

The seats are upholstered in navy blue vinyl with check inserts. An aftermarket AM/FM/cassette radio was installed during previous ownership. The seller notes that the air conditioning and windshield washer do not work.

Instrumentation set behind the wood-rimmed steering wheel includes a replacement 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles, approximately 2,300 of which were added by the seller in two years of ownership. True mileage is unknown. The clock does not work.

The carbureted 3.5-liter V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Service performed during current ownership consisted of flushing the cooling system, repairing the thermostat housing, replacing the thermostat, and an oil change. The clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, and hose were replaced in September 2018, and the transmission oil was also changed at that time. Electronic ignition was installed during previous ownership.
