TAMPA, FL — The city of Tampa is set to launch a new eBike voucher program Friday aimed at providing reliable, low-cost transportation options to Tampa residents.

The program's goal is not just to reach people with financial constraints, but to offer a wider range of options for anyone looking for efficient and sustainable ways to get around the city.

Mayor Jane Castor said this program will support reliable, low-cost transportation options as Tampa works toward a more bikeable city.

This program will not only help overcome some of the existing barriers to eBike ownership but will also provide access to reliable transportation to jobs, promote sustainable transportation and improve the city's carbon footprint, she said.

The eBike Voucher Program will provide qualified and approved applicants with an upfront discount toward the purchase of a new eBike from a participating local bike shop. \
