You can have it shaken or stirred in this amenity-packed mansion fit for 007 in the South of France.

Indeed, the sprawling property, built into a hillside overlooking the sea in Cap de Nice, was once the residence of Sir Sean Connery, best known for playing James Bond in the film franchise of the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, according to brokerage Knight Frank, which began marketing the lavish house this week for €30 million (US$34 million).

From outside, the Belle Epoch-inspired mansion exudes classical French architecture, with wisteria climbing over its facade and a cascade of landscaped gardens stretching toward the sea, according to the listing. The newly renovated gardens are now lined in colorful plantings and trace a path down to the sea road, where one can reach the nearby beaches.

The home takes a contemporary turn inside, with a fitness complex built underneath the main house. The cavernous, sun-drenched underbelly includes a gym and an indoor swimming pool that overlooks the Mediterranean. The pool level also includes a dining area and the main kitchen.

The 1.24-acre grounds encompass a second salt-water swimming pool outside and two independent guest houses.

The main house, like the rest of the property, is a mix of old and new, with period details, such as rich, wide-plank wood flooring, and contemporary floor-to-ceiling glass windows and an elevator.

A separate family room with its own kitchenette sits on the main level and serves as a home office today.

There are five bedrooms spread across the mansion’s five levels, including a master suite with a private balcony and two bathroom suites.

Connery, 89, no longer owns the property, but the area, just outside of Nice and a short drive from Monaco, remains a magnet for the rich and famous, according to the listing agent, Edward de Mallet Morgan, with brokerage Knight Frank.

“One of the wonderful things about the French Riviera is the sense of stardust—a favorite haunt of royal families as well the likes of Coco Chanel, Pablo Picasso, Grace Kelly and Sir Sean Connery,” said Mr. de Mallet Morgan, a partner at Knight Frank.

Both Sir Elton John and Tina Turner have also owned homes nearby, according to a travel guide published last year. The home’s current owner was not identified.
