Rosalía Is Willing to Sacrifice Her Gucci Purse for Her Man in This New Video

In her everyday life, Rosalía has been known to find beauty in the most unexpected places—that time she reimagined a humble bathrobe for the red carpet with the help of a pair of jewel-encrusted Collina Strada crocs springs to mind. So it should come as no surprise that she gives full expression to these transformative and romantic style sensibilities in the colorful video for her new song, “Juro Que.”

The video for the song, which translates to “I Swear That” in English, tells the story of Rosalía’s imprisoned lover (played by Spanish actor Omar Ayuso), for whom she vows to wait. The singer is seen making a phone call to her beau dressed in a form-fitting pink top with ruffled sleeves, seashells dotting her hair, before visiting him behind bars in a canary-yellow corset top with a pair of matching pants and a leather trench coat. She relates a letter that she sends to her man: “I tell him / that the first day of release / You will spend it with me / Gucci purse, diamonds, and ivory.” In other words, she is more than ready to pawn those fashion treasures to get him out of jail. The visual, which seems to pull from Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar’s infamously vibrant palette, ends with Rosalía in a monochromatic red look, but it’s that Gucci line that stays with you once it’s over. What’s the value of an It bag and diamonds when faced with true love, after all?
