A Giant & Free Festival With All Things Texas Is Coming Near Dallas Next Month

Texas-size fun!
Carrollton’s TEXFest Is Coming Back This March With All Things Texas
Contributor

It doesn't matter where in the United States (or the world) you live right now. If you were born in the Lone Star State, you will always be known as a Texan and be proud of it. To celebrate that, there's no better time in the year than March, when we honor Texas' Independence Day. If you agree, soon it will be time to polish your best boots to have a Texas-size good time because Carrollton's iconic TEXFest is coming back this March.

This year's festivities will include a huge beer garden with over 20 local craft beer vendors, so get ready to grab an ice-cold pint or two. Pair them with all the delicious culinary creations you'll find at the mouthwatering food village. Yum!

Texas' Independence Day is on March 2 but this festival will honor it the following weekend, specifically on March 7 at Historic Downtown Carrollton, about 30 minutes away from Dallas.

This festival is all about Texas pride. That means you get to do a lot of Texan favorites, such as enjoying a concert full of local Texan artists, testing your cowboy skills on a mechanical bull and taking home a cute picture of yourself riding an actual longhorn.

It doesn't get any more Texan than that!

The live performances at this year's TEXFest will be truly memorable. From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., you'll be able to enjoy Kirk Holloway's country band. Later on, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., the stage will be taken by Frankie Leoni.

Music will continue with the presentation of Atlantis Aquarius from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and finally Vandoliers at 8:00 p.m.

The festival is entirely free and open to everyone, and you get to enjoy all the music and the activities. Beer and wine, however, you will have to purchase.

Prices will range from $3 - $7, depending on the sample size.

Don't miss the chance to have a cute photo-op riding the longhorn they will have on-site. But if you want to keep an even more exciting memory of this event, you can go for the Free Old Western Photos.

The mechanical bull rides will be another way to have Texas-style fun and challenge your BFFs. Spins are free for everyone.

To better enjoy the festival, you can bring lawn chairs but tents will not be permitted near the sitting areas. You should also avoid bringing outside alcoholic beverages to this event.

Parking to the TEXFest will be extremely limited, so organizers suggest taking the DART Green Line to the Downtown Carrollton Station.
