This 7-year-old entrepreneur has been running a side business in school. Take a guess what it is.

It's been a few days since schools have reopened for business in Malaysia.

But while other kids were studying addition and subtraction as part of basic mathematics, this kid was studying the art of business.

Facebook user Puan Hasmi Samsuddin recently went viral on social media after sharing her son's adventures in entrepreneurship.

On just the second day of school, she was surprised to find out that the US$0.49 (RM2) that she had given her son as his allowance had doubled its amount to US$0.97 (RM4).

In true Asian mom fashion, Hasmi immediately worried that her son might be extorting money from his friends. But when she was questioning him, the truth was quickly revealed and that was thankfully not the case.

Instead, her son had been using some creative ventures to make that cash: Grasshopper trafficking.

That's right, the savvy 7-year-old has been catching grasshoppers at school to sell them to his friends. Which is definitely better than stealing money, but that doesn't mean he was spared from his mom's "smackdown" for not focusing on his studies instead.

"Mama send you to school to be a student not a seller! " Hasmi recounted her conversation with son on her Facebook post.

But even though Hasmi wasn't happy with her son's actions, Malaysians online were loving the story.

"Don't look down on this. The business field has it's own advantages," someone commented.

Another was amazed at how skillful Hasmi's son was.

"He can even sell GRASSHOPPERS. This isn't a normal level...," they wrote in their post.

One Facebook user even felt an affinity to the boy, sharing a story from their youth.

"I too used to sell drawings really cheaply. RM0.20 for one. A bigger piece would cost RM0.50," they recounted. "I always had customers. Sometimes I even gave more discounts."

Hasmi's son clearly has the mind for business. Here's to hoping for a bright future ahead of the young boy!
