Donald Trump made an uncharacteristic verbal stumble while attacking Democrat rival Joe Biden over what he claimed were Biden’s China ties. Addressing Thursday night’s presidential debate, President Trump said: ‘You’re the big man, I think, I don’t know, maybe you’re not, but you’re the big man I think.’

Trump contradicted himself within the same sentence while flagging Biden and his son Hunter’s alleged ties to Chinese and Ukrainian companies. He referenced an email said to mention ‘the big man’ – Biden – getting a cut of his son’s cash.

Trump started his attack by saying: ‘I don’t make money from China, you do. I don’t make money from Ukraine, you do. I don’t make money from Russia – you made three and a half million dollars Joe.

‘And your son gave you, they even have a statement. We have to give 10% to the big man. You’re the big man, I think, I don’t know, maybe you’re not. But you’re the big man, I think. Your son said, we have to give 10% to the big man. What’s that all about? it’s terrible.’

Trump was referring to leaked emails claiming to have flagged up Hunter Biden’s business dealings with China and Ukraine. His dad Joe conceded Hunter had ties to Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma, but denied being directly linked to it.

Biden said: ‘I have not taken a penny from any foreign source ever in my life’ (Biden). (Trump has) secret bank account in china, does business in china – is talking about me taking money. I have not taken any money from any country whatsoever, ever.’

‘I have released 22 years of my tax returns – you have not released sa single solitary year of your tax returns. what are you hiding? Russia’s paying you a lot, china’s paying u a lot.’

Trump again denied any financial impropriety, and insisted his property dealings were all above board.

Thursday’s presidential debate comes less than two weeks before the November 3 presidential election, with polls currently putting Biden on course to win.
