Knock is a new developer backed by acclaimed hip-hop producer DECAP, designed to do just that: make your drums knock.
Knock features a chain of five individual processing modules, each with its visualizer and a single knob control.
Punch
A transient shaper that makes your drums more snappy and punchy.
Saturate
Adds harmonic distortion while compensating for any changes in perceived loudness. This module lets you choose from three modes: soft, medium and hard.
Sub
Sub detects when a kick drum is present in the raw material and generates a layered sub-frequency tone to fortify it and give the kick a deep low-end presence. The pitch is adjustable so you can tune the subtone to your track.
Air
Adds a smooth top end to your drum tracks without sounding harsh, the developer claims. Here, you’ve got a choice of two modes (vintage and clean).
Clip
An adjustable hard or soft clipper imparts a warm and aggressive tone to your drums, reminiscent of vintage gear being pushed into the red.
In addition to the five processing stages, Knock includes a pair of high-pass and low-pass filters, input and output level controls, overall tone control and a dry/wet slider.
Knock is now available for an introductory price of USD 99 and requires macOS 10.12 or higher (M1 compatible) or Windows 8.1 or higher (64-bit). It’s available in VST3, AU and AAX formats.
The interface looks fantastic, clean, simple, and elegant, and the output is incredible. Knock is a great plugin to enhance drum grooves, loops, and sub-bass. Throw Kock on any drum channel, and it gonna do its magic. In addition, knock includes a selection of factory presets supplied by DECAP.
